Documentary Filmmaker / Director — Global Traveling Food Business
About the Opportunity
After Hours Global is a traveling food business bringing culinary experiences, pop-ups, and community events to cities around the world. We are looking for a documentary filmmaker (director/cinematographer) who is passionate about food, culture, and storytelling to collaborate with us on a feature-length/episodic documentary project.
As a filmmaker on this project, you will have full creative direction to capture:
- The process of expansion into new countries
- Immersion into local culinary landscapes
- Partnerships with local chefs, venues, and vendors
- Event planning and execution
- Behind-the-scenes of business operations
- Interaction with community, customers, and staff
- This is an opportunity to tell a rich, human story through the lens of food and travel — leveraging our global footprint, established network, and events as your stage.
What You Bring
- Experience with documentary filmmaking, ideally with cross-cultural or travel-based stories
- Strong visual storytelling skills: camera, sound, lighting, direction
- Ability to work independently and remotely
- Good organizational/project management skills — coordinating shoots across countries
- Portfolio or reel of previous work
What We Provide
- Access: You will have open access to our events, global operations, and partnerships.
- Story Resources: We’ll help connect you with local chefs, venues, and community stakeholders.
- Creative Freedom: You will own the final creative vision of the film; you are free to use this project to apply for grants, sponsorship, or distribution.
- Co-promotion: We will support the film through our channels (socials, website, events).
- Compensation: This is not a salaried or paid travel role. There is no commitment from us to pay for travel, lodging, or meals. You are responsible for funding production independently (through grants, sponsorships, crowdfunding, etc.).
