Job Description
For the past 22 years, The Moth—an acclaimed nonprofit and cultural institution—has celebrated the art & craft of storytelling. Through true stories, told live on stage without notes, The Moth has presented over 35,000 true personal stories to standing-room-only audiences around the globe that celebrate the diversity and the commonality of the human experience.

The Moth seeks a vibrant production professional to join our NEW Las Vegas StorySLAM team as a freelance Regional Producer, responsible for the Las Vegas StorySLAM and the GrandSLAM shows. The Producer will manage monthly Las Vegas StorySLAMs, engage in outreach, and coordinate with Moth Headquarters in NYC.

This is a contractor position with a commitment of approximately 10-15 hours a month, spread between pre-show prep, show nights, and post-show wraps.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-show: booking crew (videographer and audio engineer), creating and procuring physical show materials, managing any merchandise inventory and/or promotional items

Show promotion on social media (Facebook)

Recruiting, training, managing, and communicating with volunteers

Show night: running monthly shows from start to finish, including coordination with venue for setup, ticketing, financial settlement; training and deploying volunteers; working with crew, host, and media sponsors

Post-show: submitting show wraps including settlements, crew invoices and reimbursements for show materials, story summaries, and social media follow-ups

Timely and responsive communication with Moth Headquarters in NYC

Encouraging new voices while engaging with the existing StorySLAM community

Qualifications and Skills

Familiarity with The Moth's programming and live show format, and/or experience with producing live events or volunteering at live shows

Sensitivity to different perspectives from around the world and ability to communicate effectively with people from different cultural and educational settings

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both in-person and remotely)

Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment

Highly organized, detail and deadline-oriented

Technical skills: Computer and smartphone literacy, Google Drive, Google Docs and Sheets, Social Media (familiarity with Square a plus)

Must be 21+ years old and a current resident of Las Vegas

Reliable transportation a plus
