Job Description
WildBrain Studios is looking for an experienced Background Cleanup Artist to join our team! You may have known us as DHX Media – we’ve recently changed our name to reflect our renewed commitment to pushing the creative and focusing on the artist experience. At WildBrain we create epic entertainment experiences for kids and family through industry leading animation. Join us and see what other great things are happening at WildBrain!

The role:

We’re searching for talented artists who have a passion for translating initial rough sketches into digital, final line drawings. We’re looking for portfolios that demonstrate variety, passion and a strong understanding of different animation styles.

You will get to:

Use the initial location designer’s rough sketch, creating clean line work for 2D animation
Create and submit multiple cleanup variations and revisions based on feedback from the Art Director, ensuring the quality and st yle of the show is upheld throughout
Group and layer files in such a way to facilitate work for the colourists and BG Layout department

Specific skills we’d love to see…

Previous experience in cleanup or design for a 2D animation production is a definite asset
Proficiency in Photoshop and/or Toon Boom
Strong drawing ability and a solid sense of background design for 2D animation
Strong understanding of proportion, balance, perspective, dimension and dynamism
Degree/Diploma from a recognized animation school is desired
