The VFX Coordinator will work closely with the VFX Producer and Supervisor, as well as the VFX Editor.
Their main duties will include:
- naming sequences and shots with the VFX Editor
- helping ingest and setup plates for artists, ensuring all relevant info is available
- organizing the set data and ref photos
- doing weekly deliveries of completed shots
- taking notes in review sessions and weekly production meetings
- helping track the progress of the show and giving weekly progress reports.
- creating playlists of shots for supervisors and directors
- daily Shotgun housekeeping
They will also be the point person for the artists to go to if they’re missing elements or plates for a shot, have any problems, etc.

The potential candidate must be organized, friendly, positive, and have great communication skills.
Experience using and having good working knowledge of Shotgun is a huge asset. Experience with Excel would also be ideal.
A technical understanding of visual effects pipelines is a plus as well.

Western Post is a boutique post production facility in Vancouver, Canada that creates visual effects for a stable, long-running client base - Air Bud Entertainment.
Our VFX department doesn’t do any third-party work, yet has completed over 15 feature-length films in the last 15 years.
We're best known for the family classic Air Bud, MVP, the Air Buddies franchises, and our most recent franchise, the Pup Star series on Netflix.

We strictly follow all labour standards, pay proper OT after 8 hours (on the rare occasion that we do overtime), and have an excellent work environment. The studio best suits artists and programmers who value their lives and who, while working hard when they have to, also cherish the parts of their lives that aren't job related.

Hiring will commence end of April and go until approximately middle of October. There is potential for long term extensions, and we pay extremely competitive rates. Preference will be given to BC Residents.
