Animal Rescue Video Producer

Position Objective:
To produce exciting and cutting–edge videos and related materials that create a window into the daily activities and work of PETA's Cruelty Investigations Department (CID), affiliates, and undercover investigations

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
• Immerse yourself in the work of CID’s Rescue Team and produce videos about that work in order to increase media and social media coverage
• Work with the Audio/Visual Department to prepare and coordinate video packages, photo sheets, and all other audio-visual components of CID's work and for the organization and affiliates
o Edit videos and work closely with the director, manager, A/V editors, and any other staff at the PETA Foundation and its supported organizations on creative aspects of all videos, including scripting and production
o Lead local video and photo shoots for PETA
o Use discretion in choosing appropriate footage for video edits
• Liaise with PETA's Marketing Department in order to increase the public profile of CID's work
• Liaise with PETA’s Media Coordinator in order to increase issue and campaign coverage of CID’s work
• Shoot, edit, and produce undercover investigation videos
• Liaise with staff from foreign affiliates about their work and shoot and produce video packages to increase media coverage of their work
• Keep informed about local and national animal-related news stories and trends in order to ensure that PETA's message reaches national audiences with maximum impact and exposure
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications:
• Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated extensive knowledge of the media industry
• Experience with videography
• Experience as a Field Producer and conducting interviews a plus
• Demonstrated thorough knowledge of animal rights issues and campaigns
• Proven ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional manner
• Must be comfortable around animals of various types and temperaments
• Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Proven ability to take initiative and follow through
• Demonstrated ability to make sound judgments and work independently
• Proven exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Proven excellent organizational skills
• Proven ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Support for PETA's philosophy and the ability to professionally advocate PETA's positions on issues
• Commitment to the objectives of the organization
