Job Description
We are looking for a Junior studio sound engineer who has at least 2-3 years experience and is competent with with Pro Tools. He/she must be a fast learner and work (& play) well with others i.e. must be able to work as part of a team and take direction well, but should also be able to work independently when required. It is imperative to be able to keep to a strict deadline, and be accountable. References, past projects, knowledge of equipment needs to be provided with CV.

Overview:
The main purpose of this position is to record, edit and assist the head audio engineer on our productions. A good technical knowledge of industry standard DAW’s is essential as you will be required to set up, troubleshoot and operate this equipment for our post productions. You must be knowledgeable about different audio recording, and editing techniques. If you also possess a creative mind and a good ear we’d like to hear from you.

Evaluates the quality of client media deliverables to make sure they meet the correct specifications by performing quality control checks of received assets.
Creates Pro Tools sessions for all incoming work materials using prescribed workflow
Troubleshoots and corrects reported issues with source assets and previous delivered work to client.
Aids audio mixing engineer in implementing needed changes requested by studio or client.
Prepares and delivers audio files according to correct procedures adapting workflows to new procedures as needed.
Follows a QC procedure to evaluate and report on the various elements of any given project to ensure it meets standards.
Completes a QC checklist form per client standards noting areas of media to be reviewed again.
Provides checklist of what was found to Mix Scheduler so corrections can be made by the recording studio or audio mixing engineer.
Communicates frequently with the delivery team and other departments keeping them apprised of the project status.
Follow instructions and briefs from directors, producers etc
Work with video editors to synchronize video with audio and setup workflows
Setup and maintain audio equipment to ensure studio is running optimally
Have good knowledge of Avid Pro Tools / Pro Tools HD or similar DAW’s
Good understanding or some experience mixing in 5.1
Record, ADR, dialogue editing, basic sound design
Create, maintain and update sound libraries
Understanding of various video formats and video format conversions
Ability to work under tight deadlines
Able to work under pressure
Team player but able to work independently
Good command of the English language

Requirements:
Diploma /Degree in Audio engineering or similar
Minimum of 2-3 years work experience in a Post-production or broadcast facility
Good knowledge of post-production workflows
Excellent hearing and manual dexterity
Good understanding of audio and video formats as well as frame rates and broadcast standards.

Final Cut Pro, Compressor, Logic Pro, Wavelab, Nuendo
