Job Description
We are looking for a competent Studio sound engineer who has at least 4-5 years experience and is proficient with Pro Tools. He/she must be a fast learner and work (& play) well with others i.e. must be able to work as part of a team and take direction well, but should also be able to work independently when required. It is imperative to be able to keep to a strict deadline, and be accountable. References, past projects, knowledge of equipment needs to be provided with CV.

The main purpose of this position is to record, edit and final mix audio for our productions. A good technical knowledge of industry standard DAW’s is essential as you will be required to set up, troubleshoot and operate this equipment for our post productions. You must be knowledgeable about different audio recording, editing and final mix techniques. If you also possess a creative mind and a good ear we’d like to hear from you.

Follow instructions and briefs from directors, producers etc
Work with video editors to synchronize video with audio and setup workflows
Setup and maintain audio equipment to ensure studio is running optimally
Have in-depth knowledge of Avid Pro Tools / Pro Tools HD or similar DAW’s
Proven experience mixing in 5.1 and international broadcast standards
Record, ADR, dubbing, dialogue editing, sound design and mix tracks for cinema and broadcast
Solid understanding of microphone techniques and the ability to record Foley’s
A good understanding of music score and music editing
Create, maintain and update sound libraries
Excellent hearing and manual dexterity
Understanding of various video formats and video format conversions
Ability to work under tight deadlines
Able to work under pressure
Team player able to work independently
Good command of the English language

Diploma /Degree in Audio engineering or similar
Minimum of 3 - 5 years work experience in a Post-production or broadcast facility
Thorough knowledge of post-production workflows
Excellent hearing and manual dexterity
Good understanding of audio and video Formats as well as frame rates and broadcast standards.

Final Cut Pro, Compressor, Logic Pro, Wavelab, Nuendo
