Job Description
Job Scope
Reporting to the Lead Instructor the Visual Effects Instructor is responsible for designing, updating and delivering curriculum effectively while providing support and feedback to staff and students. The Visual Effects Instructor is also able to work with small groups of students on special projects, and assist students in utilizing a variety of instructional resources. The Visual Effects Instructor should have strong Compositing skills, with support skills/experience in 3D Content Creation. They should be highly organized, kind, energetic, and is a positive self-starter who thrives in an evolving and fast-paced creative environment.

Core Responsibilities
Working from a course outline, develop lesson plans detailing what will be taught and how the course material will be delivered.
Work closely with the Lead Instructor to ensure class curriculum is accurate and up to date and is communicated to students in a clear and concise manner.
Class attendance and grading.
Individual guidance of students where appropriate.
Punctual and conscientious management of classes.
Collaboration with Teaching Assistant on a daily basis. 
Collaboration with Vice President of Education and faculty on progression of courses.
Collaboration with administration staff on resources and equipment issues.
Attendance at staff meetings. 
Other duties as assigned by the Lead Instructor.

Skills, Experience, and Education
Knowledge of the 3D pipeline with a specific emphasis on visual effects production.
Post-secondary certificate, diploma or degree (or equivalent) and/or 3 years industry experience or software certification where applicable.
Portfolio demonstrating a high caliber of professional work.
Ability to lead workshops, lectures and seminars.
Excellent communication, organizational, time management and interpersonal skills.
Critical thinking and problem solving skills.
Nuke skills essential. Experience with Maya and Vray highly recommended.
