Job Description
Fish Blowing Bubbles is a production studio for film, animation, VFX and digital media. We specialize in visual communication.
From castles, mountains, animated characters, and future automotive, to touch-screen entertainment, we love to enhance the size, depth and emotion of storytelling.
We combine creativity, design and technology, and from this we develop compelling stories and turn ideas into an emotional experience.

This position is responsible for getting our creatures and characters to deform beautifully as well as create efficient control rigs and tools for animators to work with.


• Set up skeletal structures and skin characters/creatures.
• Build efficient control rigs for animation.
• Maintain efficient character pipeline.
• Ensure character´s work.
• Work closely with character, animation, and programming departments.


• Minimum 4 years of industry experience with character technology (Skinning, Rigging, Tool development, etc.), working on creatures for feature film quality productions
• Clear interest in contributing to the research and development of character technology
• Strong problem-solving skills applied to character technology requirements
• Comfortable stepping outside the “industry standard” mindset to develop leading, cutting edge solutions
• Strong general understanding of character/animation pipeline
• Team player, excellent communication skills
• Strong understanding of anatomy and muscle deformation
• Desire to see your work in the best possible light
• An eye for detail and anatomy, and experience with high quality realistic deformation of creatures
• Ability to communicate effectively in English

Desired Skills:

• 2 or more credits/projects with a dominant character rigging focus.
• Experience writing plug-ins for DCC applications.
• Experience developing IK Solvers, blending techniques, etc.
• Experience developing character and animation facial related technology (rigging, FACS fitting, topology fitting, etc.).
• Experience with motion capture systems (Motion Analysis, Blade, Phase Space, etc.)
• Strong Math skills
• Strong C/C++ skills
• Experience with Maya and Motion Builder
• Experience with Dynamics and Cloth simulations
• Knowledge of Kraken, used with Fabric Engine
