Motion Media Associate (Motion Graphics /Editor/Videographer) (CO-002-14-SP)

Summary of Position: A Media Production Analyst is a digital media production professional skilled in a wide variety of digital media specialties centered around motion graphics, high-definition broadcast video pre-production, production, post-production, and multimedia production activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance is required. Must be able to work in a collaborative team-based atmosphere as well as work individually with limited direction and oversight.
• Design Motion Graphics in 2D and 3D development tools in whole or in part
• Edit various digital-video formats, standard and non-standard, using modern non-linear-editing (NLE) video production platforms
• Develop sound design including music, voice over, and effects audio from sound libraries, event audio, voice-over, etc.
• Author optical format digital video media deliverables
• Appropriately process digital video for ingest into various authoring platforms
• Compress digital video for final delivery using a wide spectrum of production tools
• Performs ENG-style high-definition and single camera Cinema-style (up to 4k) video acquisitions in-studio and on-location using a variety of configurations including teleprompters, multi-channel audio, multi-camera event capture, green/blue-screen color separation, etc., to include video format, lens knowledge, frame-rate, and sound settings
• Performs Photography in support of video production
• Perform lighting layout for all lighting situations to include, but not limited to, interviews, green/blue-screen, and event capture.
• Develops project production requirements and schedules from concept to completion individually or as a team member
• Develops, maintains, and manages the digital media production environment to include individual pipeline workflows and overall functionality
• Travel to harsh environments may be required for on-location assignments

• This position requires a minimum of five years of applicable experience.
• Ability to merge inputs from various sources concerning video production, information technology systems, audio/video systems, digital media production practices, video production practices, post-production methodologies, digital media/ATSC video format specifications, project management and budgeting concepts and practices.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of digital cinematography theory and application. Experience configuring and operating ENG-style high-definition and standard-definition camera/recording systems for the full-range of usage, to include accessory configuration, in tape- and file-based workflows required.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of lighting theory and application for stage, set, and interview lighting with emphasis on lighting for color separation techniques (green/blue-screen) and low-impact rigging.
• Intermediate knowledge of sound capture, sound design, sourcing, editing, enhancement, and compression.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of digital compositing, motion graphics, visual effects, titling, NLE, graphic design and illustration applications.

Special considerations for Position: Working Conditions/Physical Effort
• Good color vision is required and up to moderate hearing loss, tinnitus or tinnitus-like hearing impairments are acceptable.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and commonly carry up to 15 lbs shoulder-mounted during hand-held camera operations for extended periods of time of one (1) hour or more.
